The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.

Consistency makes a playlist feel like a course. Follow these standards for every video; the per-lesson script tab tells you what to show and say, this lesson tells you how.

By the end you can

  • Set up the recording environment correctly
  • Narrate in the house style
  • Deliver files and chapters in the agreed format

Screens used

Step by step

  1. Screen setup/help/[slug]

Record at 1920×1080, 30 or 60 fps. Browser zoom 100%, a single tab, bookmarks bar hidden, no notifications. Light theme. App sidebar expanded unless the lesson says otherwise. Use a demo workspace named for the series (for example "Summit Roofing Demo").

You should see: Every video of the series looks identical in framing.

  2. Demo data/help/[slug]

Use fictional homeowners and addresses only. Never show real emails, phone numbers, tokens or payment details. Prepare the data listed under "Before you record" in the script tab.

You should see: Nothing personal or secret appears on screen.

  3. Narration style/help/[slug]

Read the narration from the script tab, conversationally. Say the exact button labels. One idea per sentence. Pause for a beat after each click so the viewer sees the result. Do not say "um", "basically" or "simply".

You should see: Narration matches the on-screen action within a second.

  4. Pacing and cuts/help/[slug]

Target the runtime in the script header. Cut dead time (loading, typing long text) with a fast-forward or a jump cut. Zoom to a region only when text is small; return to full frame before the next click.

You should see: Each scene lands near its planned timestamp.

  5. Intro, outro and chapters/help/[slug]

Open with a 3-second title card using the lesson title, then the intro narration. Close with the outro narration and a 5-second end card pointing to the next lesson. Paste "Copy YouTube chapters" from the script tab into the description, adjusting timestamps to the final cut.

You should see: Chapters match the scenes; the end card names the next lesson.

  6. Delivery/help/[slug]

Export MP4 (H.264, AAC). Name the file "<module-number>-<lesson-order> <guide-slug>.mp4", e.g. "02-02 create-a-job.mp4". Upload as unlisted first; title the video with the lesson title; use a thumbnail with the lesson title and module colour.

You should see: The admin can attach the link from the admin panel within a minute.

Tips
