Additional signers: two or three people signing in order
Add a second or third signer, understand the strict signing order and signer-specific links, read the status on the job, and handle the common error messages.
Video tutorial coming soon
The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
Up to three people can sign (two on Starter). They sign in order: the primary signer first, and each next signer is emailed only after the previous one signs. Each signer gets their own link; using the wrong link produces a clear message. Options lock after the primary signer signs, so later signers accept the same choice.
By the end you can
- Add signers on the Authorization page
- Explain the order and link rules
- Read "x/y signed" and the Signer Status dialog

Step by step
Add a signer
/edit/report/[reportId]In the proposal, Authorization page, Signers block, click "Add Another Signer" and enter Name and Email. Repeat for a third if needed.
You should see: Signer 2 and 3 rows appear with "Remove". The editor allows three on every plan, but on Starter saving a third fails with "Starter supports up to 2 signers per proposal…".
Send
/edit/report/[reportId]Send for Signing as usual.
You should see: Only the primary signer is emailed now. The dialog states "Each remaining signer will be emailed only after the previous signer signs".
Watch the status
/projects/[projectId]On the job page read the card: "Sent <date> · 1/2 signed · Next: <name>". Click "View details".
You should see: The "Signer Status" dialog lists each signer as Primary, "Signed" / "Signed manually" with date, or "Waiting". The board chip reads "Partly signed"; Activity logs "First signer signed".
Know the messages
/agreement/esign/[reportId]If a signer opens the wrong link they see "A signer-specific invite link is required…", "This link is not for the current signer…" or "…already been used by…".
You should see: Each message tells the signer to use their own email link.
Tips
- Options are chosen by the primary signer; later signers see them locked.
