Video tutorial coming soon

The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.

When you send, the app freezes a shared snapshot. That is what the homeowner sees, even if you keep editing. The job card warns "Draft changed. Republish to update the customer view." and the preview offers "Republish & Send". Until you republish, the homeowner's version does not move.

By the end you can

  • Interpret open tracking
  • Edit a sent proposal safely
  • Republish and re-send

Screens used

  • /projects/[projectId]
  • /edit/report/[reportId]
  • /board

Step by step

  1. Read the tracking/board

On the board and job page read the chip: "Sent 2h ago", "Opened 3× · yesterday", "Not opened · sent 4d ago" (amber). In Activity read "Homeowner opened the proposal" and "Homeowner viewed the proposal again".

You should see: Amber appears after three days without an open.

  2. Edit after sending/projects/[projectId]

On the job page click "Open for editing". Read the warning "Changes stay internal until republished" and click "Continue editing". Change a price.

You should see: The card now reads "Draft changed. Republish to update the customer view."; the homeowner still sees the old version.

  3. Republish/edit/report/[reportId]

Click "Review and Share". Read "This draft has unpublished changes…" and click "Republish & Send". Send the email (the "changed your quote" template is used by default).

You should see: The warning clears; the homeowner's link now shows the new version. Activity logs a new send.

  4. Link lifetime/projects/[projectId]

Remember the share link is valid for 14 days. After that, re-send from the preview.

You should see: An expired link shows "This link has expired or was replaced by a newer version. Ask your contractor to send the proposal again."

Tips

  • Signed proposals cannot be republished; the accepted version is locked. Duplicate the proposal for a change order.
