Notes and the activity timeline
Add call notes, read the automatic timeline entries, and understand the device info attached to homeowner events.
Video tutorial coming soon
The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
The Activity panel is the shared memory of the job. Humans add notes; the app adds everything else. Because every send, open and signature is logged with a time and device, a colleague can pick up a job cold and know exactly where it stands.
By the end you can
- Add a note from the job page
- Interpret every type of timeline entry

Step by step
Add a note
/projects/[projectId]On the job page, type into the box with the placeholder "Add a note — e.g. called, left voicemail; wants a metal roof option" and click "Add note" (or press Ctrl/⌘ + Enter).
You should see: The note appears at the top of the timeline with your name and the time. Notes hold up to 4000 characters.
Read the automatic entries
/projects/[projectId]Scroll the timeline. Identify entries the app wrote: Job created, Moved to <Stage>, N photos added, Measurements imported/ordered/ready, Appointment scheduled/updated/canceled, Automatic message sent or failed, Proposal sent, Homeowner opened the proposal, Homeowner viewed the proposal again, First signer signed, Proposal signed, Signing link cancelled, Material order created, Invoice created.
You should see: Homeowner events carry a device line such as "Windows PC · Chrome".
Tips
- A failed automatic message shows up here too, so check the timeline if a homeowner says they never got a reminder.
