Edit job and customer details (Project Settings)
Change the job name, revenue and created date, fix customer contact details, and understand the disclaimer about existing proposals.
Video tutorial coming soon
The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
Project Settings is where you correct anything typed when the job was created, and where you can set the job revenue by hand. Fields save when you leave them. The page opens with a disclaimer because changes here flow into every proposal on the job, existing and new.
By the end you can
- Open Project Settings and dismiss the disclaimer
- Edit project and customer details with auto-save
- Know that the Measurements section does not auto-save
Screens used
/projects/[projectId]/settings
Step by step
Open Project Settings
/projects/[projectId]/settingsOn the job page click the ⋯ "More job actions" menu and choose "Edit job details".
You should see: A modal "Project Settings Disclaimer" reads "Changes made in Project Settings will be applied to all existing reports and any new reports created for this project." Click "I Understand".
Edit Project Details
/projects/[projectId]/settingsIn "Project Details" change the Project Name, Project Revenue or Project Created Date, then click outside the field.
You should see: The status line goes from "Auto-save on field blur" to "Saving..." and then "Saved".
Typed revenue wins over the proposal total on the board card and dashboard.
Edit Customer Details
/projects/[projectId]/settingsIn "Customer Details" fix First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Phone, Email, Address, City, State or Zip Code. All but Company are required.
You should see: "Saved" appears after each field.
Note the Measurements section
/projects/[projectId]/settingsScroll to "Measurements". Read the status line.
You should see: It says "Measurements save only when you use Save, Finalize, or Activate". This section never auto-saves.
Tips
- Use "Back to Project" at the top to return to the job page.
