The job board: stages, cards and drag-and-drop
Read a board card at a glance, move jobs between stages by dragging or with the menu, search, show lost jobs and understand which moves happen automatically.
Video tutorial coming soon
The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
The board is the home screen and the fastest way to see where every job stands. Each column is a stage, each card is a job, and the header totals tell you how much work is still to win.
Moves are optimistic: the card jumps immediately, a toast confirms, and if the server disagrees the card snaps back. Keyboard and touch users get the same result from the card menu.
By the end you can
- Read every element on a job card
- Move a job with drag-and-drop and with the "Move to" menu
- Use search, "Show lost" and refresh
- Know which stage changes are automatic and which are manual

Step by step
Read the header
/boardOpen Board. Read the title line: "N active jobs · $X still to win". Note the search box "Search name, address, phone", the "Show lost" switch, the refresh button and "New job".
You should see: Active jobs counts everything that is not lost and not yet Paid. "Still to win" adds up the value in New lead, Inspected and Quote sent.
Read a card
/boardPick a card in Quote sent. Find the customer name, the dollar value, the address line, the days-in-stage ("today" or "Nd"), the photo thumbnail with count if photos exist, and the tracking chip.
You should see: The chip is one of: "Signed", "Partly signed", "Opened N× · <time>", "Not opened · sent Nd ago" (amber, after 3 days) or "Sent <time>".
The value is the typed revenue if set, otherwise the signed total, otherwise the highest option on the latest proposal.
Drag a job to another stage
/boardPress on a card, move at least a few pixels, drag it to the In production column and release. On touch, hold for a moment before dragging.
You should see: The card moves at once and a toast reads "<Customer> moved to In production". The column counts and totals update.
Move with the menu instead
/boardClick the "⋯" on a card. Under "Move to", click a stage. The current stage is greyed out.
You should see: Same result as dragging. The menu also holds "Mark as lost" or "Reopen job".
Search and show lost jobs
/boardType part of a name, street, city, email or phone into the search box. Then turn on "Show lost".
You should see: Cards filter as you type. Lost jobs appear with a "Lost" badge; they are hidden by default and excluded from column totals.
Know the automatic moves
/boardRead this list; you will see each happen in later lessons. Photos saved → Inspected. Proposal sent or shared → Quote sent. Proposal signed → Signed. Order created → Materials ordered. Invoice created → Invoiced.
You should see: Automatic moves only go forwards. In production and Paid are never automatic.
Tips
- The board refreshes itself every 60 seconds and whenever you come back to the tab, so opens and signatures appear without a reload.
- Status follows the stage: Signed and later count as WON; dragging a job back before Signed returns it to OPEN. Only lost jobs keep their status when moved.
Troubleshooting
The card jumped back after I dropped it.
The server refused the move (for example the job was deleted by someone else, or your workspace is read-only). Check the toast message and refresh.
I cannot drag on my phone.
Press and hold the card for about a quarter of a second before moving, or use the "⋯" menu.
