Import and export the product list (Excel)
Download the product list as an Excel workbook, edit prices in bulk, and upload it back. Understand that an upload replaces the whole list and how the ID column works.

The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
For big price changes, work in Excel. Download gives you every item with an ID. Edit prices, add rows with a blank ID, delete rows you no longer sell, and upload. The upload replaces the entire default product list with the workbook, so the file must be complete.
By the end you can
- Export the list and understand the columns
- Bulk-edit safely in Excel
- Upload and know exactly what gets replaced
Before you start
- Excel or another .xlsx editor
Screens used
Step by step
Open Products & Pricing in Settings
/settings?activeTab=product-listGo to Settings → "Products & Pricing" and open "More options".
You should see: Buttons "Download price list" and "Upload price list".
Download
/settings?activeTab=product-listClick "Download price list". Read the "Before downloading" notice: do not edit ID values; leave ID blank for new items. Confirm.
You should see: product-list.xlsx downloads with columns ID, Name, Description, Unit, Material Cost, Labor Cost, Margin, Price, Tax Exempt Status.
Edit in Excel
/settings?activeTab=product-listChange costs or prices, add new rows with the ID cell empty, and delete rows for items you want removed. Keep the header row.
You should see: Units must be one of the valid codes (SQ, SQFT, LF, EA, GAL, HR, BDL, PCT, RL, BX).
Keep the downloaded original as a backup before editing.
Upload
/settings?activeTab=product-listClick "Upload price list", read the "Before uploading" notice, and choose the .xlsx or .xls file.
You should see: Notice text: "Uploading a file replaces your entire default product list.", "Any existing item missing from the file will be deleted.", "An empty workbook clears the default product list." After upload the table reflects the file.
Tips
- Only .xlsx and .xls are accepted; CSV is not. Save as Excel Workbook.
Troubleshooting
The upload failed with "could not read uploaded price list file".
Check the file is a real Excel workbook (not CSV renamed), the header row is intact and units are valid codes.
