Schedule an inspection, estimate or install
Book a visit from the calendar or the job page, assign it, set location and notes, send the homeowner a confirmation and reminder, and edit, complete or cancel it later.

The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
Appointments can be booked from the calendar or from the Appointments card on a job. Linking a job fills in the address and lets the app send the homeowner a confirmation now and a reminder the day before, using the wording in Settings → Automations.
By the end you can
- Book an appointment linked to a job
- Know every field in the dialog and its default
- Edit, mark done, cancel, restore and delete a visit
Before you start
- A job to attach the visit to (optional but recommended)
- For homeowner messages: the company time zone and the appointment automations switched on in Settings → Automations (next lesson); booking itself works without them
Screens used
- /calendar
/projects/[projectId]
Step by step
Open the dialog
/calendarOn the calendar click "+ New appointment" (or click an empty slot), or on a job page click "Schedule" in the Appointments card.
You should see: Dialog "Schedule an appointment".
Pick the job and type
/calendarChoose a Job ("No job (internal)" for team-only events) and a Type: Inspection, Estimate, Install, Follow-up or Other. Choose who it is "Assigned to".
You should see: Title defaults to "<Type> – <job>" and Location defaults to the job address.
Set date, time and length
/calendarSet Date and Start, then Length: 30 min, 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours or "All day (8 hours)". Add "Notes for the team" if useful.
You should see: A time in the past shows "That time is in the past; no confirmation will be sent."
Decide about the homeowner message
/calendarLeave "Send the homeowner a confirmation and a reminder" ticked to email and text them now and remind them the day before. Untick it for a silent booking.
You should see: The checkbox only applies when a job is selected. Click "Schedule".
If the message does not go out, check Settings → Automations: the appointment rules must be switched on and a company time zone set.
Edit, complete or cancel later
/calendarClick the appointment on the calendar. Use "Done" when the visit happened, "Cancel visit" if it is off (the homeowner gets a cancellation if they got a confirmation), "Restore" to undo a cancel, the bin icon then "Really delete" to remove it, or change fields and "Save".
You should see: Completed visits fade, canceled ones are struck through, and the job activity logs "Appointment scheduled / updated / canceled".
Tips
- Reminders go out once per appointment, judged as "tomorrow" in the company time zone, from a daily job that runs at 18:00 UTC.
Troubleshooting
The homeowner did not receive a confirmation.
Check the job Activity for "Automatic message … failed", confirm the Appointment confirmation rule is on in Settings → Automations, and that the job has a valid email (and phone for texts).
