The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.

Billing is owner-only. The page shows your plan and status, a pricing preview, actions to subscribe or upgrade, and the payment history. Payments run through Stripe; the app never sees your card.

Plan limits matter in daily use: Starter allows 1 seat, 30 sent proposals a month, 5 layouts, 10 templates, 250 product items and 2 price lists. Pro allows 5 seats, unlimited proposals, layouts and templates, 1,000 items and 10 price lists. During the beta you get Pro-level limits for 60 days.

By the end you can

  • Read your current plan, status and renewal date
  • Compare the Starter and Pro limits
  • Upgrade, change interval and open the Stripe portal
  • Recognise a read-only workspace and fix it

Step by step

  1. Open Billing/settings/billing

In the sidebar under Setup, click "Billing".

You should see: Heading "Billing". Cards "Current Plan", "Subscription Status", "Pricing Preview", "Billing Actions" and "Payment History". During beta an "Early Access Beta" card shows Days remaining.

  2. Read the status/settings/billing

In Subscription Status read the status, the current period and "Trial ends" or "Beta ends". In Current Plan read Active seats and Extra seats.

You should see: Dates are shown in full; seats match your Team page.

  3. Compare plans/plans

Open the public /plans page in a new tab and scroll to "Compare plan limits".

You should see: A table with Seats, Sent proposals, Layouts, Saved templates, Product list items, Price lists and Support for Starter, Pro and Enterprise.

  4. Subscribe or upgrade/settings/billing

In Billing Actions choose Monthly or Annual, then click "Upgrade to Pro" (or "Subscribe to Starter"). You are sent to Stripe Checkout; complete the payment there.

You should see: You return to "Payment submitted successfully" (/settings/billing/success) or "Checkout was cancelled". During beta the buttons read "Available After Beta".

  5. Manage the subscription/settings/billing

Click "Manage Billing" to open the Stripe customer portal, where you update the card, download receipts or cancel. Payment History on this page lists every billing event.

You should see: The Stripe portal opens; Payment History shows Date, Type, Amount, Provider, Status, Reference.

Tips

  • A workspace becomes read-only when a trial or beta ends, or when a subscription is canceled or unpaid. You can still log in and read everything, but saves fail with a message such as "Your free trial has ended. Your data is safe. Choose a plan…".
  • Plan limits show up as error toasts at the moment you hit them (for example when creating a sixth layout on Starter).

Questions people ask

What counts as a "sent proposal"?
The first time a proposal is sent, shared or given a signing link in a month. Re-sending the same proposal does not count twice.
