The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.

A workspace has two roles. The Owner is the person who signed up: they manage billing, the team, RoofScope and automations. Everyone invited becomes a Member and can do all the day-to-day work: jobs, proposals, sending, invoices, orders, branding, price lists and settings tabs.

Invites are email-based, expire after 48 hours and always create a Member. Seats are limited by your plan (1 on Starter, 5 on Pro, 5 during beta).

By the end you can

  • Send and revoke an invitation
  • Describe the accept flow the invitee goes through
  • List the owner-only actions
  • Remove a member and know what they see afterwards

Before you start

  • You are the workspace owner
  • A plan with more than one seat (Pro, Enterprise or the beta)

Step by step

  1. Open Team/settings/team

In the sidebar under Setup, click "Team".

You should see: Heading "Team" with the subtitle "Manage members and send invitations". Cards: "Invite Member", "Members" and "Pending Invites".

  2. Send an invite/settings/team

In Invite Member, type the person's email address and click "Send Invite".

You should see: The email appears under Pending Invites with Sent, Expires (48 hours) and Status "Pending". Inviting an existing member or the same email twice is refused with a clear message.

On the Starter plan an upgrade dialog appears instead; team invites need Pro, Enterprise or the beta.

  3. What the invitee sees/invite/accept

The invitee opens the link in their email. They see "You're invited!" and "Join <Company> as MEMBER", click "Accept Invitation", then create a password (or enter their existing one if they already have an account) and click "Create Account & Join" (or "Confirm & Join").

You should see: "Welcome aboard!" appears and they are taken to the board two seconds later. An expired or used link shows "Invalid Invitation".

  4. Review members and roles/settings/team

Back on Team, read the Members table: Member, Role, Joined, Last active. Your row says OWNER; everyone else says MEMBER.

You should see: Each member row has a "Remove" button, except the owner.

  5. Revoke or remove/settings/team

To cancel a pending invite click "Revoke" on its row. To remove a member click "Remove" and confirm "Remove member".

You should see: The invite disappears; a removed member is sent to the login page with "Your workspace access has been removed" on their next page load.

Tips

  • Members see "Only organization owners can send invites" on this page; that is expected.
  • Running out of seats shows an "out of seats" error. Extra seats are $15 per month on paid plans; during beta contact support if you need more than five.

Questions people ask

Can I make someone else an admin?
There are only two roles, Owner and Member, and ownership is not transferable from the UI. Contact support if the owner changes.
