The first person to sign up for a company becomes the owner of a new workspace. The app creates the workspace, a trial or beta subscription, six default email templates, a branding record and the standard measurement tokens, so you can build a proposal within minutes.

One rule matters right away: the app will not send proposals, invoices or orders from an unverified email address. Verification is a single click on the email you receive, but people often skip it and get stuck later, so this lesson finishes with it.

By the end you can

  • Create a workspace from the signup page
  • Explain what the first account becomes (the owner) and what gets created automatically
  • Verify your email and know why sending is blocked until you do

Before you start

  • An email inbox you can open now
  • A password of at least 6 characters in mind

Step by step

  1. Open the signup page/signup

    Go to the website and click "Start Free Beta" or "Get Started" on the plans page, or open /signup directly. You see the eyebrow "Workspace Setup" and the heading "Create your My Roof CRM workspace."

    You should see: A form with three fields: Full Name, Email Address and Password, with a Show/Hide eye on the password.

  2. Fill in your details/signup

    Type your full name (at least 2 characters), your work email and a password of at least 6 characters. Read the line "By registering, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy".

    You should see: The helper text under the password reads "Password must be at least 6 characters". Invalid emails are flagged before you can submit.

  3. Create the account/board

    Click "Create Account". The button reads "Creating account..." while it works.

    You should see: A toast appears: "Account created successfully. Logging you in..." with the note "Please verify your email address before sending email from the workspace." You are signed in and land on the board.

    Behind the scenes the app created an organization named "<Your name>'s Company". You will rename it in Branding in a later lesson.

  4. Open the verification email/verify-email

    Open your inbox and find the verification email. Click its link. It opens the Verify Email page in the app, which shows a "Verify Email" button.

    You should see: After clicking the button the page shows "Verifying Email" and then a success message. Verification does not happen until you click the button.

  5. Confirm it worked on your profile/profile

    Back in the app, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then "Profile". Look at the Email row.

    You should see: The Email row shows a green "Verified" badge. If it still says "Unverified", click "Send verification email" and repeat the previous step.

Tips

  • A login lasts seven days on the same browser; you will not be asked for your password every day.
  • During the early-access beta the workspace starts on the Beta plan for 60 days with no credit card. Outside beta it starts a Pro trial.

Troubleshooting

  • The verification email never arrived.

    Check spam, then open Profile and click "Send verification email". The sender is info@myroofcrm.com.

  • I want to change the email address on my account.

    The profile page cannot change the email ("You can't change your email address from this screen."). Contact support@myroofcrm.com.

Questions people ask

I was invited by my boss. Do I sign up here?
No. Use the link in the invitation email instead; it creates your account inside their workspace. Signing up here would create a separate company.
