Narration, in order
0. Intro: Measurements explained: snapshots, active and Quote-Safe
0:00 · 20sTitle card, then the first screen of the lesson.
Before we import or draw anything, two minutes on how measurements work in My Roof CRM, because the words snapshot, active and Quote-Safe come up everywhere.
1. Find measurements on the job
0:20 · 41sOpen a job and look at the "Roof measurements" card on the right.
Every job has a Roof measurements card. Empty at first, and once a snapshot is active it shows the numbers every quote on this job will use.
Show before cutting: Either "No measurements yet…" with "Import EagleView / RoofScope" and "Measure manually", or a summary of Pitch, Roof area, Squares, Ridges, Hips, Valleys, Eaves, Rakes and Waste from the active snapshot.
2. Understand snapshots
1:01 · 41sClick "Measure manually" (or the "Measurements" header button). In the workspace, open the Snapshots tab in the "Measurement details" sidebar.
A snapshot is one saved set of numbers. Drafts are editable, finalized ones are frozen, and the one marked Active is the one quotes read. Switching the active snapshot is one click, and it is reversible.
Show before cutting: Each snapshot shows "Snapshot vN", Active or not, Finalized or Draft, "Updated …" and "Saved by …". Finalized snapshots that are not active have an "Activate" button.
3. Understand Quote-Safe
1:42 · 41sLook at the confidence badge in the top bar: "Draft", "Needs Review" or "Quote-Safe".
Quote-Safe is the app checking your drawing: facets, pitch, scale, edges all labelled, nothing overlapping. Only a Quote-Safe drawing can be finalized, so a half-finished sketch can never price a job.
Show before cutting: Finalize is disabled until the drawing is Quote-Safe: at least one valid facet, a pitch between 0 and 24, a scale above zero, every edge classified, and no overlapping facets.
4. Understand how quotes react
2:23 · 41sRemember this rule: when the active snapshot changes, proposals on the job show "Measurements changed. Refresh quote lines before sharing." and the quote editor offers "Review changes". Nothing changes until you click Apply.
And the most important rule: new measurements never change a quote silently. You get a warning, you review the new quantities, you apply. Until then, the old numbers stand and sharing is blocked.
Show before cutting: Sharing a proposal is blocked while the warning is present.
5. Recap & next lesson
3:04 · 15sHold on the finished result, then the end card.
With the model clear, let us import an aerial report, the fastest way to get numbers on a job.
