Edit, duplicate and delete layouts
Change an existing layout's pages, duplicate it to make a variant, delete unused layouts, and understand what changing a layout does to existing proposals.
Video tutorial coming soon
The written steps below are complete. Producing the video? Use the video script tab — it follows these steps one for one.
Layouts are copied into proposals at creation time. Editing a layout changes future proposals only; proposals already created keep their own pages. That makes editing safe, and duplicating is the way to make a repair or insurance variant.
By the end you can
- Edit and preview a layout
- Duplicate for a variant
- Delete safely
Screens used
- /settings?activeTab=layouts-report
/edit/layout/[layoutId]
Step by step
Edit
/edit/layout/[layoutId]In Settings → Layouts click Edit on a layout. Change pages as in the report editor. Click "Preview" to check a page.
You should see: Changes autosave.
Duplicate
/settings?activeTab=layouts-reportBack in the list, click Duplicate (also in the ⋮ menu). Rename the copy in Layout Settings.
You should see: A new layout appears.
Delete
/settings?activeTab=layouts-reportClick Delete on a layout you no longer use and confirm.
You should see: The layout disappears; existing proposals are unaffected. If you deleted the default, the next "Create proposal" promotes your oldest shared layout (or creates "Standard proposal"), so mark a new default yourself.
