Quote editor: options, sections and items
Build up to three quote options, add sections and items from your price list, set quantities, rename tabs, inherit items from a parent option and write the description.

The Quote Details page holds up to three options shown to the homeowner as tabs. Each option has sections (Tear-off, Install, Extras) and items with price, quantity and total. Items are suggested from your product list, and calculated items take their quantity from measurements.
A child option can "include all items from" a parent option, so Better equals Good plus a few extras without copying lines.

Step by step
Open Quote Details
/edit/report/[reportId]Click the Quote Details page.
You should see: Heading "Quote Editor", a "View templates to get started quickly" link, quote tabs, "Include all items from:", "Description:" and the first section.
Rename the option
/edit/report/[reportId]Double-click the first tab and type "Good". Press Enter (Escape cancels).
You should see: The tab shows the new name.
Add a section and items
/edit/report/[reportId]Click "Add Section" and name it "Tear-off". Click "Add New Item", start typing "shingle" and pick the suggestion. Set Quantity. Press Enter to commit.
You should see: Columns Item / Price / Quantity / Total fill in; section and option totals update.
Calculated items (with a formula) fill their own quantity from the job's active measurements and show a note if a measurement is missing.
Add a second option that inherits
/edit/report/[reportId]Click the "+" button (Add new quote) to add a second tab, double-click it and name it "Better", and under "Include all items from:" choose "Good". Add only the extra items.
You should see: Better shows Good's items plus its own. Maximum 3 options ("Maximum 3 quotes allowed").
Write the description
/edit/report/[reportId]Fill "Description:" with a one-paragraph summary of this option.
You should see: It appears on the quote page and on the homeowner's option card.
Tips
- Use templates (next lessons) to start a quote with your standard sections and items already in place.
Troubleshooting
My item is not suggested when I type.
It is not in the product list (or not in the selected additional price list). Add it to the product list, or type a free item for this quote only.
