The report editor: pages, toolbar, preview and settings

Reorder and toggle pages, rename the page you are editing, add a new page, preview a page as PDF, choose a price list in Report Settings and save the proposal as a layout.

The editor has a Pages sidebar on the left (a sheet on mobile), a header toolbar and the active page's editor in the middle. The app sidebar starts collapsed here to give you the width. Changes autosave.

By the end you can

  • Navigate the Pages sidebar and toolbar
  • Add, rename, reorder, hide and delete pages
  • Preview a page and set the report price list
  • Save a proposal as a layout

Step by step

  1. Read the toolbar/edit/report/[reportId]

    Open a proposal. Read the toolbar: "Editing: <page title>", "Save as layout", "Report Settings", "Review and Share", "Preview", "Delete Page". On mobile they sit in a ⋮ menu.

    You should see: Clicking the page title lets you rename it; Enter saves.

  2. Reorder and hide pages/edit/report/[reportId]

    In Pages, drag a page by its handle to a new position. Flip the switch on the Warranty page off.

    You should see: Order changes immediately; a page with its switch off stays in the editor but is left out of the agreement the homeowner sees.

  3. Add a page/edit/report/[reportId]

    Click "New Page". Enter a Title and pick a Type: "Text / Document", "PDF Upload" or "Shared PDF". Click "Create Page".

    You should see: The page appears at the end of the list and opens.

  4. Delete a page/edit/report/[reportId]

    Select a page and click "Delete Page". Confirm in the "Delete Page" dialog.

    You should see: The page is removed; this cannot be undone.

  5. Preview a page/edit/report/[reportId]

    Click "Preview".

    You should see: The "Document Page Preview" shows the current page as PDF.

  6. Report Settings/edit/report/[reportId]

    Click "Report Settings". Under "Pricing" choose "Default price list" or an additional list.

    You should see: Quote suggestions and prices follow the chosen list.

  7. Save as layout/edit/report/[reportId]

    Click "Save as layout", give it a "Layout name", tick "Shared" to let the team use it, and click "Save layout".

    You should see: The layout appears in Settings → Layouts.

    Starter plans are limited to 5 layouts.

Tips

  • Inputs in the quote, invoice and authorization editors commit when you press Enter or leave the field.
