Tokens are placeholders replaced with real data when a document or email is produced. They work in text pages, templates and the emails under Settings → Email Settings. Automations have their own, slightly different token set.

By the end you can

  • Use the right token for each value
  • Know where tokens are replaced

Step by step

  1. Learn the list/edit/report/[reportId]

    Tokens: {{ACCOUNT_NAME}}, {{COMPANY_NAME}}, {{SALESPERSON_FIRST_NAME}}, {{SALESPERSON_LAST_NAME}}, {{SALESPERSON_NAME}}, {{SALESPERSON_TITLE}}, {{SALESPERSON_PHONE}}, {{SALESPERSON_EMAIL}}, {{CUSTOMER_FIRST_NAME}}, {{CUSTOMER_LAST_NAME}}, {{CUSTOMER_NAME}}, {{CUSTOMER_ADDRESS}}, {{SIGNED_QUOTE_TOTAL}}.

You should see: The email editor offers a token picker for the subject; in text pages type them.

  2. Use one/edit/report/[reportId]

In an Introduction page type "Dear {{CUSTOMER_FIRST_NAME}}," and open Preview.

You should see: The preview shows the homeowner's first name.

  3. Empty values/edit/report/[reportId]

Remember: an empty value renders as nothing. The label is never printed in its place.

You should see: No stray "{{…}}" ever reaches the homeowner.

{{SIGNED_QUOTE_TOTAL}} is meant for the "document signed" emails, where a total exists. {{SALESPERSON_TITLE}} currently renders empty and {{SALESPERSON_PHONE}} uses the company phone from Branding.
