Narration, in order

  1. 0. Intro: What My Roof CRM does: the life of a roofing job

    0:00 · 20s

Title card, then the first screen of the lesson.

Welcome to My Roof CRM. In the next few minutes I will show you how a roofing job moves through the app, from the first phone call to the final payment, so every other video in this series makes sense.

  2. 1. Open the board

    0:20 · 27s

Log in. You land on Board, the first item in the left sidebar. Read the eight column headings from left to right: New lead, Inspected, Quote sent, Signed, Materials ordered, In production, Invoiced, Paid.

This is the board, and it is the whole business on one screen. Every column is a stage in the life of a job, from a brand-new lead on the left to paid on the right.

Show before cutting: Eight columns are visible (scroll sideways on a small screen). Each has a coloured dot, a count and a dollar total. The subtitle reads "N active jobs · $X still to win".

  3. 2. Stage 1 and 2: New lead and Inspected

    0:47 · 27s

Look at the first two columns. A job is created with the "New job" button and starts in New lead. When someone saves site photos from their phone, the job moves to Inspected on its own.

A job starts as a new lead the moment you create it. Your field person opens it on their phone, takes photos and roof details, hits Save, and the job slides to Inspected by itself.

Show before cutting: Empty columns show the hint text "Call booked, customer created" and "Photos and notes captured".

  4. 3. Stage 3 and 4: Quote sent and Signed

    1:14 · 27s

Look at the next two columns. Building the proposal happens on the job page and in the report editor. Sending it moves the job to Quote sent; the homeowner signing moves it to Signed.

You build the proposal from the job page, send it, and the job moves to Quote sent. The card then tells you when the homeowner opened it. When they sign, it moves to Signed, and the job counts as won.

Show before cutting: Cards in Quote sent carry a tracking chip such as "Sent 2h ago" or "Opened 3× · yesterday".

  5. 4. Stage 5 to 8: order, production, invoice, paid

    1:41 · 27s

Look at the last four columns. Creating a material order from the signed proposal moves the job to Materials ordered. In production is a manual move when the crew starts. Creating the invoice moves it to Invoiced. Paid is a manual move when the money arrives.

From the signed proposal you create the material order and later the invoice; both move the job for you. In production and Paid are the two you drag by hand, because only you know when the crew is on the roof and when the cheque cleared.

Show before cutting: Hint text reads "Material order created", "Crew on the roof", "Invoice sent" and "Payment received" (the Invoiced move actually happens when the invoice is created).

  6. 5. Find the supporting screens

    2:08 · 27s

Read the rest of the sidebar. Calendar schedules visits. Jobs is the full list. Customers rolls up every homeowner. Dashboard shows revenue. Price list is your catalog. Under Setup: Branding, Settings, Team, Billing and Help & guides.

Everything else in the sidebar supports the board. Calendar for visits, Customers for history, Price list for what things cost, and the Setup group for the one-time configuration the owner does.

Show before cutting: Every item highlights when you click it, and the page heading matches the item (the Jobs page heading says "Projects"; same thing).

  7. 6. Recap & next lesson

    2:35 · 15s

Hold on the finished result, then the end card.

That is the life of a job. Next, we will create your account and set up your workspace, then come back and create your first real job.
