Narration, in order
0. Intro: Instant quote: let homeowners price their own roof
0:00 · 20sTitle card, then the first screen of the lesson.
Homeowners want a price before they call. In this lesson we set up Instant quote, a page where they price their own roof and land on your board as a lead.
1. Open the Instant quote settings
0:20 · 20sClick Settings in the sidebar, then "Instant Quote" in the settings menu.
Instant quote lives in Settings. Everything about your price-your-own-roof page is on this one screen.
Show before cutting: The Instant quote page opens with the on/off switch, your link, two website embed codes, your options, pricing rules and recent online estimates.
2. Set your options and prices
0:40 · 60sUnder "Good / Better / Best options", give each option a name, the product or system, your installed price per square, the warranty, a short description and what is included (one item per line). Pick which one gets the "Most popular" badge. Hide or remove options you do not sell.
Here are your three options. Put in your real installed price per square, the warranty and what is included. Watch the preview update as I change the price.
Show before cutting: The Preview box under Pricing rules updates as you type, showing the price range for a sample 1,800 sq ft home.
3. Check the pricing rules
1:40 · 40sUnder "Pricing rules" set the waste allowance, the ± range, the steep-roof surcharge, the price for each extra layer to remove and your minimum job price.
These rules turn roof size into a price. Waste covers cuts, steep roofs cost more, and extra layers add tear-off. The minimum makes sure tiny roofs still show a sensible price.
Show before cutting: The preview range changes with each rule. A wider ± range gives a wider price range.
4. Edit the education and wording
2:20 · 40sReview "What goes into a new roof": edit, reorder or remove items so they match how you build a roof. Then set the headline, intro, fine print and whether to show an example monthly payment.
This list is shown right before the price. It is your chance to explain tear-off, ice and water shield and ventilation, so homeowners compare you on quality, not just price.
Show before cutting: Your wording is ready to save.
5. Choose when to ask for contact details
3:00 · 30sLeave "Ask for contact details before showing prices" on to capture every homeowner who sees a price, or switch it off to show prices first. Optionally enter a different email for new-lead alerts. Click "Save changes".
Most roofers keep this on: name and phone first, then the price. That way every price you give out is a lead on your board. Save.
Show before cutting: A "Instant quote saved." message appears and "You have unsaved changes" goes away.
6. Turn it on and share it
3:30 · 45sSwitch the tool On at the top. Copy "Your link" for ads, Facebook posts and emails. For your website, copy one of the embed codes and paste it into your site where you want the tool (or ask your web designer to).
Flip it on. Use the link in your ads and posts, and give the embed code to whoever runs your website. One code shows the tool on a page; the other adds a floating Get my roof price button to every page.
Show before cutting: The switch reads "On: homeowners can use your link". "Open my page" opens your branded page in a new tab.
7. Walk through it as a homeowner
4:15 · 90sClick "Open my page". Enter an address and click "Get my price", confirm the home on the satellite photo, answer the roof questions, read the "What goes into a new roof" step, enter contact details, then choose an option and click "Book my free inspection".
Here is what your customer sees. Address, confirm the house, how steep, what is on it now, what a proper roof includes, contact details, and there are the prices. Pick one and book the inspection.
Show before cutting: You see your prices for each option, then a "You're all set!" screen. If email is set up, the homeowner email and your new-lead email arrive within a minute.
8. Follow up the lead
5:45 · 40sOpen the Board. Find the new card in the Lead column and open it. Read the job activity. Back in Settings → Instant Quote, "Recent online estimates" lists every request.
And here is the lead, already on the board, with the roof size, every price they saw and the option they picked. Call them while it is fresh.
Show before cutting: The job shows lead source "Instant quote" and activity entries such as "Online estimate requested" with the squares and prices, and "Chose Better … and asked for a free inspection".
9. Recap & next lesson
6:25 · 15sHold on the finished result, then the end card.
That completes the Jobs module. Next up: the calendar and automatic homeowner messages.
