Narration, in order

    0:00 · 20s

Title card, then the first screen of the lesson.

Before we build proposals, let us nail the vocabulary: proposal, report, layout, template and page.

  2. 1. Look at a proposal's pages

    0:20 · 41s

Open any proposal with "Open for editing". Read the "Pages" list on the left.

A proposal is just pages. Cover and intro to look good, Quote Details to price it, Inspection for photos, Terms and Warranty for the fine print, Authorization to sign.

Show before cutting: Seven pages in a new workspace: Cover, Introduction, Quote Details, Terms & Conditions, Warranty, Inspection, Authorization. Each has a drag handle and a switch.

  3. 2. Spot the layout connection

    1:01 · 41s

Note the "Save as layout" link in the toolbar. On the job page, note "or start from another layout" under Create proposal.

Every proposal starts from a layout, and any proposal you are proud of can be saved as a new layout.

Show before cutting: Both mention layouts: a proposal is created from one and can be saved back as one.

  4. 3. Spot the template connection

    1:42 · 41s

Click Quote Details. Find "View templates to get started quickly". Click Authorization and find the same link.

Templates are per page. On Quote Details, pull in a saved quote structure; on Authorization, a saved disclaimer and upgrade list.

Show before cutting: A "Select a Template" dialog lists saved templates for that page type.

  5. 4. See what the homeowner gets

    2:23 · 41s

Click "Review and Share" and look at the PDF; then remember the homeowner page from the quick start lesson.

The homeowner gets a web page with your branding, their photos and their options, and the same content as a PDF. What they sign is frozen for good.

Show before cutting: The PDF matches the pages in order; the web page shows photos, options and the sign button.
