Work Orders

Create Project Plans for Your Team or Subcontractors

Work Orders transform a signed customer quote into a clear project plan for your staff or sub-trades. They pull in the approved items, inspection details, and allow you to add a custom Scope of Work, providing a single source of truth for job execution.

Prerequisites and Recommendations

  • Signed Quote Required: A work order can only be created after a customer quote has been signed.
  • Level 2 Setup Recommended: Having your Product List configured ensures line items transfer smoothly.

1. Send a Work Order to Your Team

Generate a customized work order from a won project and share it with your crew or subcontractors.

Steps to create and send an order:

  1. Open the project with the signed quote.
  2. On the report card, click Create Order button.
  3. Customize the Order:
    • Rename it by clicking the pencil icon in the top-left.
    • Review each page, especially the Materials Page:
      • Permanently Delete: Click the red trash can icon on items or sections not needed for the work crew. This cannot be undone.
      • Temporarily Exclude: Toggle items off to hide them without deleting.
      • Add Notes or Sections for specific crew instructions.
  4. Send the Order:
    • Click Review and Share button, then Send Order button to send the order.
    • Add the recipient's email address.
    • Include any final notes.
    • Click the final Send Order button.

3. View and Manage Sent Work Orders

Keep track of all work orders associated with a project from a central location.

To view order history:

  1. Open the project with the signed quote.
  2. On the Project Details page, under the report name, find the note about associated orders and click View.
  3. A panel lists all orders. Here you can:
    • Edit, Duplicate, or Delete an order using the icons.
    • Click the down arrow to see the full submission history.
  4. Click Done to close.
